Get to know the Artist!
Hi! My name is Marie and I am the face behind Inka Rebel established in 2021.
My newly-founded craft of making little pieces of wearable art from polymer clay came from my passion for art and fashion and the need for a creative outlet during lockdown.
Thank you so much for supporting my little business.
How it all Started
I have always been creative ever since I could hold a pen. I could always be found drawing, writing, painting, and sculpting something or other.
I remember the first time I flew on a plane and my Mum was pointing out of the window for me to look. Instead I just wanted to finish my sketch of a parrot.
I remember painting the rooftops from the view of my Great Grandmas living room and I remember keeping a diary and trying to turn it into a fiction novel, ha.
I was a photographer for a few years up until recently when I decided photography wasn't a career path for me, it was a hobby that helped me de-stress and I wouldn't want to tarnish that.
Thankfully with this little shop I'm still able to put my camera to use and the editing part of the process is my favourite. Having a vivid imagination that I am able to bring to physical life is the most satisfying thing ever to me.
I got interested in Polymer Clay through the power of Tik Tok and I just had to try it and I was addicted from the moment I opened my first packet of clay.
Helping the Environment
All my jewellery is carefully packaged in eco-friendly postal boxes and recycled protective materials are used to wrap individual items.
I do not use any plastic packaging at all.
Fast fashion is second only to oil as the world's largest polluter. By shopping with small brands and independent designers you are automatically cutting down on the mass production of fashion by huge companies.
All jewellery is handmade by me and my promise is to always ensure as little waste as possible. Any scraps of clay from my creations are ALWAYS reused for other projects and I aim everyday to be as environmentally conscious as possible during the making and packing process of my jewellery.
